Liveaboard FAQ and General Info

We are a couple and require a double bed during our liveaboard dive trip. Do all boats have double beds?

Many do, but not all. Use our search engine directly to the left here and you will see a chart in the results section which clearly states if there are double beds or not.

We have children who are under 10 and not divers. Can we bring them?

Yes, most boats will allow you to have kids younger than 10 in your cabin/ bed for a very reduced price. If you want to book their own beds, they pay the same as an adult would pay.

We have children who are over 10 and certified divers. Are they OK to dive on a liveaboard boat?

What if my friend or spouse is a non-diver? Will they enjoy the trip?

There are so many destinations around your area. How do we get started finding the right trip?

We have specific dates that we can dive. How do I search for specific dates on your website?

I’m interested in diving on a liveaboard, but not sure if I have been diving enough. What are the minimum criteria?

I’m a non-diver so far. Is it possible to get certified on a liveaboard boat in the Similan Islands?

What services do you offer? Are you an operator?

We are thinking of chartering a boat rather than doing a join-in liveaboard. Do you do that, and do I get a better deal?

I will be visiting Thailand between June and September. What can I expect as far as diving goes?

Why are the boats priced so differently?

Why aren't liveaboard trips a lot cheaper in Thailand than other countries?

Is it necessary to book liveaboards a long time in advance?

Do you require pre-payment?

Do you take payment by credit card?

I have more questions, how may I contact you?

Liveaboard General Information

Liveaboard dive boats give you a far wider range of destinations than day trips can offer since on this type of vessel, and with a few days of time, we can extend our range to the northwest and south. The diving quality is decidedly world-class, and people travel from all over the world to experience it often booking months or years in advance.

Liveaboard dive boats visit the following locations in the Andaman Sea:

Trip length of liveaboards typically range from three-days up to ten days–sometimes longer–and most boats depart in the afternoon or evening as the distances involved require overnight travel. This puts you in the water the following morning. They generally return in the evening or early in the morning, depending on the boat's preference.

The following boats visit Burma (Myanmar-Mergui) and Thailand:
The following boats dive in Thai waters (and Burma sometimes by special arrangement or charter):

More general information can be found by clicking on "Liveaboard boats" where we have general trip length, daily cost per person, a short description of the boat, and a small photograph. For detailed information, use the links above or to the left. These pages include pictures, layouts, descriptions, itineraries, schedules, prices, and sometimes a special photo gallery and/ or video.

All trips include:
All trips generally do not include:

Sometimes this is not the case, however. Please check with us at time of booking for specific information. Additionally, in most cases towels and underwater lights are included in the price, but again, please confirm this with us.

Equipment Rental Prices:
  1. BCD: $7.00 per day

Equipment is not included in the price of liveaboards as people generally prefer to use their own and it would be unfair to make these people pay for equipment they already have. Computers can often be rented, but are generally expensive. You might consider purchasing this piece of equipment. Also, for the most part, only full-foot fins are available for rent. Booties and open-heel fins are not usually available. Three-mm shorty suits are usually OK for most of the year, but if you have one, bring a 3-4 mm full-length wet suit for more comfort, especially for longer trips or for Burma trips where the water can be cooler. Water temperatures are 27ºC to 30º C (84ºF to 90ºF).
