MV Nautica Liveaboard Information and Layouts

Built and completed in Yangon, Myanmar in 2004, Nautica promises something different for the Andaman Sea liveaboard cruising scene. She is 24m (80ft) in length and 5m (17ft) across. Though not a huge vessel, she has three big advantages: One, she only takes 12 guests in five en suite cabins and one newly added budget twin cabin which is not en suite. Two, four cabins have a choice of double or twin bed configuration, and three, she is IMO certified to travel very safely in international waters.

She will offer various itineraries and these trips include the best of the Similan Islands National Park, the Surin area, and the Mergui Archipelago in Burma or Myanmar.

What's inside?

MV Nautica has one master cabin on the top deck where the view can't be beat. Of course all cabins feature en suite (private) bathrooms which are well designed and well appointed. The master cabin is larger than the other cabins thus priced accordingly.

Her other cabins on the main deck where the diving takes place are designed well in the way that she can either take couples in a queen-size bed, or two people in twin beds. As you can see from the pictures on the right, all the crew does is move the nightstand, re sheet the beds, and she's a double--perfect for couples. All cabin features individually controlled air conditioning units so you decide if you're too hot or too cold.

Her twin bed cabin is located on the main deck and it is large, but has no private bathroom. There is a comfortable lounge area on the stern on the upper deck. The area forward has dining tables, and the area aft has cushions for relaxing lower to the deck, Thai style. You can go here for more pictures. This upper deck is the social or "party deck" and you'll do all of you dining here as well as socializing and hanging out. It's a nice, big, comfortable area.

Safety you can count on

The boat is equipped with all the proper safety equipment required for open-ocean cruising. We have satellite phones for staying in contact, as well as CB, SSB and VHF radios for communicating with the whole world if we need to/ want to. In addition, we have Oxygen on board for emergencies, as well as a complete first-aid kit. The boat has two, 25-person SOLAS certified life rafts and plenty of certified life jackets which meet international standards. She is IMO (International Marine Organization) certified, one of the few dive vessels in Thailand which meets these high standards.

Roomy and spacious

The vessel is of steel construction, so has more room than a wooden boat of equal size. Most of the cabins are on the same deck as the dive deck, the master cabin on the top deck near the outdoor dining area (see drawings below). For you video junkies, we have a complete TV and DVD video system for playing back those memorable moments underwater or watching a movie. Music is available as well. You can choose from the boat's library or bring your own. Electricity is available 24-hours a day supplied by our three generator sets. The large dinghy transfers you from dive sites back to the main vessel after a dive, or to take you to some incredible beach somewhere in the Andaman Sea, Thailand or Burma.

Built for ease of use

There are two places for handling your equipment: one table on the dive platform and in the saloon up top. Plenty of rinse-tank space is supplied. The compressor system is designed to be as noise free as possible, and the dive deck is well laid out to make it as easy as possible to get in and out of the water. Our dinghy picks you up if you drift away from the dive site or boat. For small groups of divers, or for couples or two divers traveling together, you can't beat this boat for price and comfort.
