MV Dive Race Liveaboard: Details

Dive Race Liveaboard

The Dive Race liveaboard dive boat based here in Phuket, Thailand, offers four-day and four-night diving trips to all of the best sites in the Andaman Sea from November until April every year. These sites include the Similan Islands, Koh Bon and Tachai, and Richelieu Rock, all located northwest of Phuket. The boat departs from the port of Thap Lamu near the resort town of Khao Lak, and we offer free transfers to and from the boat from anywhere in Phuket or Khao Lak.

25 meters, 14 divers , Master, Deluxe & Standard Cabins

The vessel is 25m or 82ft in length and takes a maximum of 14 divers on scheduled trips. She can accommodate up to 18 divers on full charters, and at the prices being charged for her, she is an excellent charter boat for dive clubs or friends.

She has three types of cabins: Two master cabins that have a double bed, a twin bed above, and a sofa/ couch with an en suite bathroom, fine for a couple with a child; three deluxe cabins with a double and twin bed combination, also en suite; and two standard cabins with twin beds and a shared bathroom.

Comfortable Social Areas

While she's not as well appointed as her sister ship the Black Manta, she has a nice interior saloon area as well as an outdoor dining area on the same upper-deck. On the very top of the boat, there is a partially shaded sun bathing area with seats.

Safety and Toys

The vessel travels back and forth between Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia, so because she is used to traveling in foreign waters, her safety standards are higher than the average Thai boat. She has good life rafts and proper life vests according to Singaporean standards. She has all the electronics to get her safely out to sea and back again.

Her diving deck is clean, and spacious. She has individual tank racks, gear storage beneath the racks and tanks are filled from whips from the on board compressors. The boat can mix Nitrox and even Trimix if you are so qualified or motivated. She's a good boat for you techies looking to do some special kinds of diving.

The crew is well trained both in diving and customer service. The boat crew is Thai and the divemasters are a mix of foreigners and Thais, and we can cater to just about any language you speak if we know in advance. Special requests are our specialty.
