The MV Nautica Liveaboard

Built and completed in Yangon, Myanmar in 2004, Nautica is something a little different in the Andaman Sea liveaboard cruising scene. She is 24m (80ft) in length and 5m (17ft) across. Though not a huge vessel, she has three big advantages: One, she takes only 12 guests in five en suite cabins and one budget twin cabin which is not en suite. Two, four cabins have a choice of double or twin bed configuration, and three, she is IMO certified to travel very safely in international waters.

What's Included?

Cruise price is per person, and includes hotel transfer, accommodation on board, all meals, drinking water, coffee, tea, divemaster services, tanks, weights, and belts. Price does not include personal diving equipment, alcoholic beverages, or national park fees. Thai National Park fees are 400 Baht per person entry, plus 200 Baht per day.

Please remember that all Burma itineraries depart from Thailand since there are virtually no services in the southern area of the Myanmar. You cannot leave from the capital of Burma, Yangon. (Rangoon is the old British name.) You check out of Thailand and return to Thailand via the port of Ranong, Thailand, and not Yangon, Myanmar. Please do not confuse the two cities even though they sound similar. Your entry permit to the Mergui Archipelago does not require a Burmese visa, nor is the permit the authorities issue a Burmese visa. If you are visiting the country for non diving tourism, please contact the nearest Embassy of Myanmar.

Currently, the diving fee for entering Burma is $200 US. This is payable in cash only, USD only, upon departure, on the boat. You will also need two copies of the front page of your passport, and four passport pictures (instant pictures are fine from any shop here).

Credit cards are accepted on the boat, although cash is appreciated for drinks, tips, and other fees. The boat accepts US dollars, Thai baht, English pounds, or Euros. Your bill is tallied up at the end of the trip and the cruise director will tell you the amount.

Nitrox fills cost 250 THB. Proof of Enriched Air certification is required. Nitrox courses are available on board for 7,000 THB. Advanced Open Water courses are 7,000 THB. All courses include the required manuals and course materials. Please let us know in advance approximately how many dives you will do with Nitrox so we can ensure we have enough tanks. Nitrox packages are available at buy 10 fills, get two free (12 total). Finally, as with most of the vessels, 100cft (15ltr) tanks are available upon request, as are DIN adaptors.

We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance for any kind of trip you do anywhere in the world. We also recommend that you have DAN or other diving accident insurance up to date and current in case of an unanticipated evacuation or other treatment that may not be covered by your regular insurance.
