SY Aquila Trimaran: Details

The 50ft trimaran Aquila (Spanish for Eagle) went through a complete overhaul in 2007. She has a beam of 25ft, so has plenty of space to play and relax. The boat operates on full charter only and can cater for two up to 10 guests for as many days/ nights as you want. The owner/ captain has extensive knowledge of Thai waters as well as Burma and even the Andaman islands (he owned a dive center there several years ago). The specially designed aft section of the boat offers easy access to all water sports and she can cater to divers as well as sailors. She's perfect for a group of friends or families.

The Andaman Sea is probably the best sailing area in the world for safe recreational yachting holidays. The scenery is just breathtaking offering limestone formations (as best known from the the James Bond movie "The Man with the Golden Gun"), wide sandy beaches (made famous from the movie "the Beach"), crystal clear waters for snorkeling and scuba diving (many movies), uninhabited islands (how about "Cast Away"), palm trees in the wind (we'll stop with the movies now), safe waters and not to mention the Thai hospitality and our famous cuisine.

Lots of space

Aquila can sleep eight to 10 people in comfortable cabins with hatches and fans to help keep you cool. For day sails she can take up to 16 people.

When you book a charter with Aquila, we choose the route depending on your interests and set sails accordingly. Do you want to explore some caves and mangrove forests with a kayak? No problem. Aquila has two aboard and your skipper Markus knows the places to go. Snorkeling is always a great activity for adults and children alike and only offshore of Phuket will you find the best spots. The rich natural underwater life of the Andaman Sea is waiting for you.

At the rounded stern is the dining area and center of your onboard social life. Here scrumptious meals are served up overlooking a million-dollar, ever changing view of the ocean or fantastic island you're visiting. There is plenty of room for all guests and crew to join in the festivities, fun, activities, conversation, and daily gluttony. The stern area is shaded and protected from the intense tropical sun.

Below Deck

There is a nice saloon below for those that want to watch a movie or check email. Meals can also be served here if you prefer, but most of the time it's nicer to eat and drink on deck.

There are 3 double bed cabins with private bathroom and one twin/ double cabin with bathroom just outside. All cabins have strong fans and hatches that will create good airflow. But, there is no air conditioning.
